By | March 23, 2024

Hanoi was recently voted on the list of the best places for those who like to travel alone. ‘This city is full of charm, culture, friendliness; reasonable prices is the assessment of a foreign visitor.

In an article published on the American news site BuzzFeed last weekend, author Hannah Loewentheil compiled comments around the topic of travel on the Reddit forum to produce a list of the best and worst destinations when traveling alone. The cities are listed, but the whole country is also counted as a destination on the list that Hannah selected.

“Hanoi is one of the best cities in Vietnam to travel alone, and also the best choice in Southeast Asia. This city is full of charm, culture, friendliness, reasonable prices.

In contrast, other cities like Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur have a lot of modernization,” the author of the article quoted the comment of user dubz12 on Reddit.

In addition to Vietnam’s Hanoi, Hannah’s list also recommends some other countries in Asia such as Japan, Thailand, Korea… as good places to travel alone, besides other countries around the world. Such as Ireland, Guatemala, Netherlands, Portugal, Argentina, New Zealand, USA…

This is not the first time Vietnam has been voted the ideal destination for solo travel.

In August 2020, the American travel magazine Travel + Leisure also voted the S-shaped country to be one of the 20 best solo travelers.

“An endless adventure awaits you in Vietnam,” wrote authors Skye Sherman and Elizabeth Preske of Travel + Leisure about Vietnam, which ranked 16th on the list.

This magazine also recommends that solo travelers to Vietnam try sailing from Ha Long Bay to Bai Tu Long Bay to admire one of the famous places with natural landscapes and clear blue water in the world.

Or book a tour to explore Son Doong - the world’s largest natural cave; Or visit Hoi An to be overwhelmed by the romantic scenery from the romantic lanterns on the Thu Bon River during the full moon under the full moon.

Solo travelers can still experience Vietnam’s culture and history, stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake, or visit the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels, and eat some Vietnamese food at Ben Thanh market are experiences that anyone can have when coming to Vietnam, whether traveling alone or in a group.

Currently, Vietnam is planning to fully reopen tourism in the “new normal” situation from March 15, after two years of stopping receiving international visitors because of COVID-19.
