Many tour routes have been built and operated, dozens of tourist attractions, accommodation establishments, and travel businesses are eligible to welcome international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism. Said that the tourism industry has been building and renewing many sightseeing programs, ensuring the safety of welcoming international tourists back to the city after two years.
“With the advantage of a convenient inner-city river and canal system, the city’s tourism has cooperated with businesses to exploit products associated with waterways, such as Bach Dang tour to Cu Chi and Can Gio; tourism programs on Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe canal, SUP rowing activities in Thanh Da, Binh Thanh, District 7, Can Gio Districts.
In the coming time, the industry plans to survey, research, and open a tour by helicopter to see the city from above; High-speed train to Con Dao . Director of the Department of Tourism said.
There are 34 hotels with more than 6,800 rooms, meeting the requirements of the pilot international welcome 2022. Besides, the city has nearly 60 3-5 star hotels that are qualified and standard to welcome international guests.
In addition, 9 tourist attractions are eligible to welcome guests, such as the City Post Office, Cu Chi Tunnels Historic Site, Historical Site of Rung Sac War Zone, War Remnants Museum, and Accessories Museum Southern, Women City History Museum, Ao Dai Museum.
In addition, 6 other points in the city are completing documents to be approved to welcome international visitors.
Regarding travel, 5 businesses are piloting to welcome international tourists according to the package tour model: Saigontourist, Vinasun travel, Hai Van Cat Travel, tourist, and Blue Sky travel.
Under the package tour program, international tourists must arrange a separate sightseeing area without contact with domestic tourists during the first three days of self-monitoring their health.
Ms. Huynh Ngoc Van, Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Ao Dai Museum, shared: “Welcoming international guests is always more complicated than domestic guests because they have many difficult questions that need to be answered. Such as things to do in Ho Chi Minh City.
The services at the museum such as renting antique clothes to take photos, food space in the countryside market, food service… we have done successfully with domestic customers, will also be deployed with international guests.
We are more interested in providing information for international visitors, supplementing, understanding, and translating more rich content to guide guests.”
Ho Chi Minh City is currently one of eight pilot cities to welcome international visitors before opening on March 15. In 2022, Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism aims to welcome 3.5 million international visitors 25 million domestic tourists, up 66.66% over the same period.
