Phu Quoc – The Most Attractive Destination After the Covid Pandemic

According to a survey at travel agencies in recent days, Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) is the most chosen destination by tourists. Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Deputy Director of Marketing Department of Vietravel Tourism Company, said that the company plans to serve 2,000 visitors to Phu Quoc on this occasion, accounting for 40% of the total number of visitors registered for tours.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Viet, CEO of WE Travel, said that the number of guests booking Phu Quoc services accounted for 60% of the company’s total number of visitors during Tet. 4-5 star luxury resorts are the earliest fully booked segments, such as InterContinental, Fusion, Movenpick, Crowne Plaza, Pullman, La Veranda, New World, or Salinda.

The Vinpearl complex, with a total supply of thousands of rooms per night, is also close to complete. Anh Viet said that many villas costing tens of millions to hundreds of millions per night have also been booked by guests. There are only a few rooms left in low-end hotels and resorts.

Nguyen Vu Khac Huy, Vice Chairman of the Tourism Association of Kien Giang Province, also said that many 4-5 star resorts in Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) are complete, especially those with full catering services. Drink and play in the area.

Service prices have increased by about 10% compared to weekdays, but not too much impact on customer spending. Meanwhile, the lower segments such as 2-3 stars or homestay in the city are still vacant.

According to information from Phu Quoc Airport, the city now welcomes more than 20 domestic flights every day, not to mention passengers traveling by train and ferry. It is expected that flights will continue to increase during Tet.

A representative of Vietnam Airlines said that the flight route to tourist destinations such as Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh … has been active again. Flights with a rapid increase in bookings from February 2 to 4 (i.e., the 2nd to 4th of the Lunar New Year), ticket prices increased, up to 4-6 million VND/person, 2-3 times higher than the time. Before Tet.

Phu Quoc is becoming one of the best places for tourists, both North and the South, thanks to its beautiful beaches and rich marine ecosystem. During Tet, the destination has warm sunny weather with little rain, in contrast to the temperature in the North.

In addition, the city is one of the places where international visitors are being piloted, so it has created peace of mind for tourists about disease safety. Visitors to Phu Quoc are not subject to any epidemic prevention restrictions. Many new entertainment areas have been opened, so this long holiday is an opportunity for visitors to experience.

Currently, Phu Quoc has about 25,000 accommodation rooms, of which more than 10,000 are of 5-star standard. All residents and workers in the city have been vaccinated with enough vaccines and deployed booster shots to be ready to welcome guests.
