The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism propose opening up international tourism activities completely and welcoming international tourists to come to Vietnam through all international border gates from March 15.
Sharing at the meeting, the representative of this unit said that March 15 is the right time to open the door to attract international tourists.
Deploying slower than the above will reduce the attractiveness, attracting international tourists to Vietnam’s tourism.
The main reason is that many countries in the region are also preparing to issue plans to reopen and restore international tourism.
On the other hand, from now until March 15 is also enough time for relevant ministries and branches to adjust regulations and issue implementation guidelines, tourism businesses to complete and deploy communication plans, promotion, advertising, market connection.
The opening tourism from March 15 creates a premise to prepare for the peak of international arrivals (from October last year to April next year).
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also offer plans to welcome international tourists. Accordingly, visitors must have received a total dose of the recognized Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days before entry or have a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 within no more than 6 months by the time of entry.
International travelers also need a certificate of RT-PCR test negative for Covid-19 within 72 hours before entry.
Another important requirement is that visitors must purchase health insurance that covers at least $50,000 for Covid-19 treatment.
Tourist businesses that meet the conditions prescribed by current law are allowed to welcome international guests.
About the visa policy for foreign tourists, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism propose to allow international tourists entry at all border gates according to regulations and immigration regulations that were in effect before 2020 will be restored.
