From Hanoi, you can choose to travel by bus, airplane, and ferry.

  • By airplane: there are about 4 to 6 flights from Hanoi to Phu Quoc. You can choose flights of Vietjet, Jetstar and Vietnam Airlines. The fare is from 65USD to more than 200USD for a one-way ticket. It takes 2 hours to get to the destination. You can also fly to Saigon and move to Phu Quoc with other vehicles.
  • Coach bus: to visit Phu Quoc island, you need to travel from Hanoi to Saigon, later catch a bus or get on a boat to get to Phu Quoc. You can get on a bus such as Thesinhtourist, Hoang Long, Mai Linh, Tan Dat, Khang Kien, and so on. The fare is about 35USD to more than 50USD. Then, you move to Rach Gia or Ha Tien to get to Phu Quoc island.
  • Ferry and boat: You can choose a fast ferry ( about more than 2 hours from Saigon to Ha Tien) with 10USD to 15USD. Another way is to choose a slow ferry at a cheaper price. You can also get on a high-speed boat which can carry hundreds of passengers. The ticket is from 10USD to more than 20USD.

From Saigon, you can get to Phu Quoc island by plane, ferry, and bus.

  • By Plane: there are flights of Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air. A one-way ticket is from 35USD to more than 50USD. There are more than 10 flights per day, at different schedules.
  • By bus: you can get on Futa Bus, Kumho Samco, Thien Thanh Limousine. There are three buses of good quality and seats. The fare is about 11USD. The stop is at Rach Gia and Ha Tien. After that, you can get on a ferry to move to Phu Quoc island. Some ferries and boats are Superdong, Phu Quoc Express, Ngocthanh Express. The fare is about 11USD, too.
  • By motorbike/ car: it is not popular because the distance is quite far, approximately 280km from Saigon to Ha Tien. After getting to Ha Tien or Rach Gia, you can use a boat or ferry to visit Phu Quoc Island.
